Job Description
Missions
Analysis of the role of the periodic cytoskeleton in the morphology and functions of dendritic spines: Application of various treatments to neurons (disruptive drugs, protein depletion) and analysis of the impact on synaptic transmission and its plasticity, and the organisation of glutamate receptors before and after cytoskeletal disruption.
Activity
Immunolabelling and viral infection in dissociated neuronal cultures and organotypic slice cultures.
Conventional and super-resolution microscopy, associated image analysis and electrophysiological recording.
Your Profil
Skills
Research into hippocampal neuron cultures.
Handling of non-replicating lentiviruses.
Knowledge of the cell biology of neurons, with particular focus on cytoskeletal proteins and synaptic plasticity.
Proficiency in techniques and analyses associated with microscopy and electrophysiological recording
Your Work Environment
Established on 1 January 2011, the Interdisciplinary Institute of Neurosciences (IINS) is a joint research unit affiliated with the CNRS and the University of Bordeaux. With a staff of 170 people divided into 12 teams, the IINS brings together multidisciplinary expertise to study the molecular and cellular mechanisms involved in brain activity. The Institute develops innovative methods in imaging, chemistry, physiology and computing. As part of Bordeaux Neurocampus, the IINS is one of the key players in the neuroscience community in Aquitaine.
