Job Description
Missions
The agent will be responsible for setting up and conducting behavioural animal experiments (optogenetics, chemogenetics, calcium imaging and in vivo electrophysiology, modelling) aimed at understanding dendritic integration and its modulation by neuromodulatory inputs during decision-making in awake animals.
Activity
1) Stereotaxy and implantation surgery (skull window, silicon probe, neuropixel) and viral infection.
2) Handling, habituation and daily monitoring of animals in animal experimentation, in accordance with ethical regulations:
3) Implementation of experiments involving lesions, optogenetics, calcium imaging of M2 pyramidal neuron dendrites and electrophysiology in awake animals.
4) Strict monitoring of endpoints and euthanasia of animals if necessary.
5) Daily monitoring of data collection and storage by all necessary means (laboratory notebook, external hard drive, server).
6) Mathematical analysis and modelling of data and formatting of figures.
7) Monitoring and maintenance of the team's equipment.
8) Training and supervision of PhD and Master's students if necessary.
Your Profil
Skills
1) Regulatory training in animal experimentation (design and application) and specialisation in surgery.
2) In-depth theoretical and practical knowledge of neuroscience, animal behaviour, optogenetics, electrophysiology, and implantation surgery.
3) Extensive knowledge of programming and data analysis (Matlab, Python, etc.).
4) Extensive knowledge of immunohistochemistry.

Created on 1 January 2011, the Interdisciplinary Institute for Neuroscience (IINS) is a joint research unit affiliated with the CNRS and the University of Bordeaux. With 170 staff members divided into 12 teams, IINS combines multidisciplinary expertise to study the molecular and cellular mechanisms involved in brain activity. The Institute develops innovative methods in imaging, chemistry, physiology and computer science. As part of Bordeaux Neurocampus, IINS is one of the major players in the neuroscience community in Aquitaine.
