Missions

Use of a cell stretching device compatible with super-resolution microscopy to study the nanoscale deformations and reorganizations of individual proteins within mechano-sensitive structures.

Activities

Conduct documented experiments in cell biology, protein biochemistry and molecular biology techniques to understand the organization of focal adhesions. Image acquisition in super-resolution microscopy and computer image analysis. Supervision of a Master 2 student for 6 months. Writing of scientific articles.

Skills

Strong experience in scientific computing and data analysis, and a deep interest in neuroscience at the molecular and cellular level. Familiarity with super-resolution imaging and cell stretching techniques. Good oral and written communication skills in English.

Created on January 1, 2011, the Interdisciplinary Institute of Neuroscience (IINS) is a joint research unit attached to the CNRS and the University of Bordeaux.
With 160 people divided into 14 teams, IINS combines multidisciplinary skills to study the molecular and cellular mechanisms involved in brain activity. The Institute develops innovative methods in imaging, chemistry, physiology and computer science. Part of the Bordeaux Neurocampus and LabEx BRAIN, IINS is one of the major players in the neuroscience community in Aquitaine.
