Missions

The postdoctoral researcher will be part of the Cellular senescence, Cancer and Aging laboratory headed by David Bernard. He/she will develop a project aiming to identify novel markers of senescent cells, investigate whether they have a function in senescent cells and whether they can be targeted to improve senescence-related pathologies.

Activités

The postdoctoral fellow will be in charge of developing her/his project. He/she shall handle design, plan, perform and interpret various experiments. He/she should master the associated literature. He/she should be able to communicate his/her results in the lab and outside. He/she should be able to work independently as well as with other team members and collaborators pending of the project needs.

Compétences

We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic scientist.

The applicant must hold or obtain soon a doctorate in the field of molecular and cellular biology with good knowledge of cellular senescence and/or aging biology.

Experience in manipulating mouse, cell culture, particularly primary/normal cells, manipulating gene expression as well as in classical cell and molecular biology techniques are required.

Applicant should be first author of at least one publication related to the subject or skills required for the project.

Candidate must have a positive attitude as a team member and should be able to communicate (oral and written skills) in English.

Contexte de travail

Our international team is part of the Cancer Initiation and Tumor cell Identity department inside the Cancer Research Centre of Lyon (CRCL - INSERM U1052 / CNRS 5286) located in Lyon, France (https://www.crcl.fr/en/cancer-initiation-tumor-cell-identity-department/cellular-senescence-cancer-and-aging/). This center is affiliated to CNRS and INSERM French research agencies, and to Centre Léon Bérard Hospital and University of Lyon.
The successful applicant should start between in April 2026. This is a full-time job. Applicant should hold or obtain soon a PhD in the field of Biology. Salary will be according to the CNRS scale.
Our team is composed of about 20 people and we are working in a dynamic environment. The candidate will also benefit from the scientific environment (about 24 teams and about 500 people dedicated to cancer research) and technical platforms provided by the CRCL.
