The postdoctoral researcher will be part of the Senescence escape mechanisms laboratory headed by David Bernard. He/she will develop a project investigating the role of senescence (by playing with inducers the death of senescent cells) in controlling the response to chemotherapy and other stresses. He/she will work under the supervision of David Bernard and in collaboration with other team members within the framework a French National Cancer Institute (INCA)-DGOS supported project.


The postdoctoral fellow will be in charge of developing the above-mentioned project. He/she shall handle design, plan, perform and interpret various experiments. He/she should master the associated literature. He/she should be able to communicate his/her results in the lab and outside. He/she should be able to work independently as well as with other team members and collaborators pending of the project needs..


We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic scientist. The applicant must hold a doctorate in the field of molecular and cellular biology with good knowledge of cellular senescence and/or cancer biology. Experience in cell culture, manipulating gene expression as well as in classical cell and molecular biology techniques is required. Experience in cellular senescence and chemoresistance will be a plus. Applicant should be a fist author of at least one publication related to the subject or skills required for the project.
Candidates must have a positive attitude as a team member and should be able to communicate (oral and written skills) in English.

Work Context

Our laboratory is composed of between 10-15 people and we are working in a dynamic and international environment. The candidate will also benefit from the scientific environment (24 teams and about 450 people dedicated to cancer research) and technical platforms provided by the CRCL.

Constraints and risks

Work with human cells and eventually with mice.
