Job Description

Missions

A research engineer position in bioinformatics is open at the KidsCaN laboratory, focusing on cancer neuroscience applied to pediatric oncology. The laboratory studies pediatric cancers of embryonic origin, particularly those affecting the nervous system. We are seeking a bioinformatics engineer with strong expertise in omics data analysis, especially in single-cell epitranscriptomics and proteomics.

Activity

The successful candidate will work on the integration and analysis of multiple datasets, including but not limited to sc/bulk RNA-seq, sc/bulk ATAC-seq, spatial transcriptomics, and proteomics data. They will also be responsible for monitoring technological and scientific developments related to the team's omics research themes. In addition, they will organize the storage and traceability of omics data generated and processed within the team.

Your Profil

Skills

- Expertise in advanced omics data analysis, particularly in single-cell transcriptomics and epigenetics
- Knowledge of spatial transcriptomics data analysis
- Proficiency in R
- Proficiency in Python or a similar language
- Fluency in English

Your Work Environment

The team is part of a highly dynamic and international environment at the Lyon Cancer Research Center (CRCL), providing access to state-of-the-art facilities (microscopy, flow cytometry, single-cell omics technologies, etc.). The CRCL includes 26 teams, totaling approximately 600 members, and is affiliated with Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, Inserm, CNRS, Centre Léon Bérard (CLB), and the Hospices Civils de Lyon (HCL). The city of Lyon offers an excellent quality of life for young researchers and families and is ideally located within 2 hours of Paris, Marseille, and the Alps.
