Missions
As part of the ANR ALTAR project, the Institute of Analytical Sciences (ISA), which specializes in surface chemistry and molecular adhesion, is collaborating with the NanoStructured Materials for Photonics (MNP) team of the Lumière Matière Institute (ILM) to develop a new generation of laser sources. These devices are based on a physical separation between electrical addressing and optical emission, enabling the design of addressable Tamm lasers with high potential for integrated optoelectronics.
Activities
The proposed work is organized into two complementary parts. The first part, carried out at ISA, will focus on the study of interactions between metallic and semiconducting surfaces. Several assembly strategies will be investigated, including molecular bonding following plasma surface treatments, the use of functionalized conductive molecules to create an efficient bond between silver and GaAs, as well as the controlled insertion of a thin adhesive layer by capillary action. The resulting interfaces will be subjected to mechanical, optical, and electrical characterizations in order to evaluate their performance.
The second part of the work, conducted at ILM, will focus on the fabrication of specific microstructures in a cleanroom environment, as well as on the characterization of the assembled devices.
Skills
- Strong background in surface physical chemistry, materials science, nanoscience, or optoelectronics.
- Surface chemistry, microfabrication, and optical characterization techniques.
- Experience in surface chemistry, plasma processing, or microfabrication will be highly valued.
Work Context
The successful candidate will be hosted within the Surface team of the Institut des Sciences Analytiques (ISA), which specializes in surface chemistry, molecular adhesion, and surface analysis. The candidate will also be affiliated with the NanoStructured Materials for Photonics (MNP) team of the Institut Lumière Matière (ILM).
By joining this position, the candidate will also benefit from the advantages offered by the CNRS.
