Development of novel lubricant formulations. The research is interdisciplinary, combining synthsesis of molecules, physical chemistry and tribology. The research will be conducted in cooperation with Total company.


The post-doctoral researcher will be in charge to develop new molybdenum containing molecules and study their behavior under strong mechanical and thermal stress in the tribological contants. The work will be divided between preparation&characterization and lubrication tests. Beside the sytheses, analysis of decomposition products on the lubricating surfaces is considered.


General chemistry , organic chemistry , physical chemistry Experience in microscopy, XPS, Raman spectroscopy and/or tribology is highly welcome .

Work Context

The post holder will work at the site of La Doua in Villerubanne. He /she will be supervised by Dr Pavel Afanasiev and Dr. Christophe Getantet, in ECI2D group of the IRCELYON directed by Dr Catherine PINEL.
