Job Description

Missions

The goal is to develop a new approach that allows to control the radical formation in zeolite synthesis to achieve zeolites with improved acid properties. A focus will be given to the development of the methodology (building and validating protocols) as well as to the post-characterization of the obtained zeolite materials.

Activity

The activities can be summarized as:
- perform, at first, conventional zeolite syntheses using available in-house recipes.
- design, build, and validate a reactor that allows the control of the radical formed in the synthesis solution.
- study the effect of the radical control on a selection of zeolite topologies.
- conduct the characterization of the materials to draw structure-synthesis relationships.

Your Profil

Skills

The recruited research should have knowledge in the preparation of porous materials and their characterization methods with a previous activity in heterogeneous catalysis and spectroscopy characterization tools. The knowledge in photochemistry and/or radical synthesis will be considered as a plus.

Your Work Environment

The work will be conducted in the CATREN team at ircelyon. The CATREN team is dedicated to heterogeneous catalysis for the energy transition and it focuses on three main research areas:
- Heterogeneous catalysis for C1 conversion
- Power-to-chemicals
- Conversion of bio and fossil resources
Through those axes, while conventional catalysis dedicated to the refining of fossil resources is declining, we develop new applications of heterogeneous catalysis to energetic issues. We are interested in the catalytic valorization of biomass and related platform-molecules to produce biofuels and intermediates such as olefins and aromatic coumpounds. We also focus on dihydrogen production and CO2 reduction through thermocatalytic, photocatalytic and electrocatalytic routes.
The recruited researcher will benefit from the different available facilities at ircelyon including the IRC@tech platform.
