Job Description

Missions

The subject concerns the study of new catalysts for the conversion of CO2 into hydrocarbons. The reaction mechanisms will be studied using in situ surface techniques, particularly IR spectroscopy. The catalysts will then be characterized after use by advanced techniques available at the IRCELYON and IFPEN laboratories.

Activity

- Catalyst synthesis
- Characterization of surface structure and reactivity, acid-base properties
- Catalytic tests on model reactions
- Kinetic modeling

Your Profil

Skills

Training in inorganic materials and heterogeneous catalysis. Experience in materials synthesis and experimental measurements. Training and experience in kinetic modeling. Expertise in in-situ spectroscopy and scientific literature review. Fluency in spoken and written English.

Your Work Environment

IRCELYON, a joint research unit of the CNRS and the University of Lyon, brings together the expertise in heterogeneous catalysis in the Lyon region to form the largest catalysis laboratory in France and Europe. The laboratory comprises 115 permanent researchers from the CNRS and the University of Lyon, as well as a similar number of doctoral and postdoctoral students. IRCELYON, an academic research laboratory entirely dedicated to heterogeneous processes, focuses its research activities on the challenges of sustainable development.

What we offer: • A stimulating work environment with opportunities to interact with research staff. • An on-site company restaurant offering affordable lunch options. • Partial reimbursement of public transport costs (75%) + sustainable mobility allowance. • Site accessible by public transport + private parking. • Financial contribution towards health insurance costs.
