Missions
The objective of this work is to develop theoretical guidelines and to formulate rational design principles for smart surfaces capable of electro-stimulated reversible nano-patterning. For that, we will study mechanisms of conformational transitions triggered by applied electrical voltage in surface- anchored polyelectrolyte layers with progressively increasing compositional and architectural complexity. Ultimately, we seek to establish systematic relations between architecture of the homo- or hetero polyelectrolyte brushes and their electro-responsive behavior.
Activités
- Development of analytical theory and computer modelling of conformational properties of ionically charged polymers at interfaces under the action of external fields.
- Writing of computer codes using Python and SFBox software.
- Preparation of drafts of scientific publications.
- Regular meetings with experimental group of CRPP
- Development of a theoretical model which can be used for interpretation of experimental results
Compétences
- PhD in physics or physical chemistry of polymers.
- Experience in both analytical and numerical modelling techniques (scaling and self-consistent field approaches).
- Basic knowledge of experimental methods of physics of polymers.
Contexte de travail
The position is offered at IPREM - Institute of Analytical Sciences and Physico-Chemistry for the Environment and Materials, a multidisciplinary research institute affiliated with the CNRS UMR 5254 and the University of Pau, located in Pau, France. The candidate will be supervised by Dr. Oleg BORISOV, research director at the CNRS. He/she will be employed within the ANR project "Soft-Membrane Interferometric Stress Sensor" (SOFTER) in collaboration with the Centre de Recherche Paul Pascale (CRPP), CNRS UMR 5031. He/she will have to work under the supervision of Dr. Oleg BORISOV and in close collaboration with Dr. Carlos DRUMMOND from CRPP.
