Job Description

Missions

The objective of the postdoctoral position will be to synthesize a series of so-called unique π-conjugated materials for the fabrication of solar cells capable of operating under non-standard conditions (thermal stress and solar concentration), with a view to their incorporation into hybrid systems combining concentrated solar power (CSP) and photovoltaic (PV) conversion.

Activity

The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to the development of organic solar cells adapted to the extreme conditions of a hybrid CSP system.
(S)He will be responsible for the design, synthesis, and characterization of novel π-conjugated materials (donor–acceptor copolymers) for the fabrication of SCOSC solar cells.
(S)He will be in charge of studying the thermal, optical, electronic, and morphological properties of these materials under standard conditions and under thermal stress.
They will also participate in the characterization of cell performance and stability under standard conditions and under thermal stress (J–V measurements, efficiency, EQE/IQE, spectral response, etc.).

Your Profil

Skills

PhD degree in organic chemistry / materials chemistry. Strong experience in multistep synthesis, purification, and characterization (spectroscopy/electrochemistry) of π-conjugated (macro)molecules. Experience in the fabrication and characterization of organic electronic devices is desirable but not mandatory.

Your Work Environment

The postdoctoral researcher will be integrated into the Department of Molecular Chemistry (D1) of the Charles Gerhardt Institute of Montpellier (ICGM), where they will join a team specialized in the synthesis and investigation of the properties of π-conjugated materials. Their work will be part of an interdisciplinary collaboration with the Institute of Electronics and Systems (IES), which specializes in the fabrication of photovoltaic devices and their electrical and optoelectronic characterization.
