Missions

As part of a research project conducted with a major industrial partner, the ICGM laboratory is recruiting a contract researcher to conduct in-depth scientific qualification of an innovative organic mortar, resulting from the combination of a thermosetting polymer matrix and mineral fillers. The formulation of the material has now been defined in stoichiometric terms, but requires rigorous scientific analysis of its chemical, reactive and physicochemical properties, both in its reactive and cured states, including the study of its behaviour over time, in order to accurately understand its ageing over a very long period.

Activités

The successful contract researcher (M/F) will be responsible for:
I. Identifying and analysing the chemical signature of the various constituents (polymer matrix, mineral fillers, additives).
II. Establishing the particle size profiles and morphology of the fillers supplied by the industrial partner.
III. Conducting bibliographic research and dedicated tests to determine the possible chemical incompatibility of the formulation's components with various organic and even metallic compounds encountered in the targeted application.
IV. Study the reactive behaviour of the virgin and then filled thermosetting system by conducting thermal experiments (DSC and TGA), analytical chemistry experiments (FTIR and NMR spectroscopy) and dynamic or steady-state rheology experiments.
V. Characterise the properties of the cross-linked matrix (virgin then loaded) using the same techniques as those mentioned above, but also using mechanical measuring devices and microscopic analyses.
VI. Monitor the physicochemical ageing of the cross-linked formulation in order to assess its stability in the face of various physicochemical stimuli representative of the planned application.
