Job Description
Missions
The objective of this postdoctoral position is to develop a methodology combining spectroscopic and thermomechanical analyses to determine the curing progress of cork/polyurethane composites. The potential of the synthesized bio-based polyurethane composites will be evaluated in various applications such as packaging.
Activity
The impact of parameters (curing time, humidity, presence of a catalyst) on the mechanical properties of the resulting composites (rheology, DMA, tensile testing, etc.) will then be studied in order to establish structure–property relationships.
Your Profil
Skills
The candidate must hold a PhD specializing in polymer chemistry and/or physical chemistry (rheology and mechanical properties). Strong knowledge in polymer chemistry and polymer physical chemistry is expected, along with the ability to work effectively in a team. The candidate should demonstrate initiative, autonomy, and strong oral and written communication skills (in both French and English).
Your Work Environment
This work will be carried out within the Chemistry & Macromolecular Materials Department (C3M) of the Charles Gerhardt Institute of Montpellier (ICGM), in collaboration with a mid-sized company (ETI) that is a leader in its market. Business trips to the partner company will be required as part of this postdoctoral position.
