Job Description
Missions
This project lies at the intersection of organic chemistry, supramolecular chemistry, and chemobiology. By using solid-phase DNA synthesis with non-natural molecular building blocks, the goal of this project is to create sequence-controlled oligomers with sequence-controlled self-assembly properties. The recruited candidate will perform the synthesis and characterization of the resulting oligomers, as well as the characterization of the nanostructures obtained using various physicochemical methods (NMR, DLS, etc.)....
This project will be carried out jointly by the Interactions and Biomolecular Engineering (I2BM) team, under the supervision of Dr. Quentin LAURENT, and the Synthesis and Reactivity in Organic Chemistry (SeRCO) team, under the supervision of Dr. Adrien QUINTARD.
Activity
- Organic synthesis of phosphoramidites (reactions under inert atmosphere, purification by chromatography)
- Automated solid-phase synthesis of oligomers
- Physicochemical characterization (NMR, DLS, MS, etc.)
- Supramolecular self-assembly
- Presentation of results at meetings, writing of publications
Your Profil
Skills
- Expertise in supramolecular chemistry and organic chemistry
- Experience in solid-phase synthesis is a plus
- Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively
- Strong scientific rigor and organizational skills
- Minimum B2 level of English
Your Work Environment
The successful candidate for this position will join the Department of Molecular Chemistry (DCM). The DCM is a joint research unit (UMR 5250) affiliated with the CNRS and the University of Grenoble Alpes. Currently, the DCM employs approximately 150 people whose scientific research focuses on major societal themes: health and well-being, and new energy sources, without neglecting fundamental aspects.
This position is funded for 12 months by the CNRS through the EXPLORE program, which aims to encourage scientific risk-taking and explore new frontiers in key areas of chemistry.
