Missions
-As part of a project co-financed by the Regional Council of Nouvelle Aquitaine and by the company CEVA Santé Animale (Libourne), an in-depth bibliographic study on the systems of encapsulation of active ingredients with prolonged release is to be carried out. Active ingredients of interest for CEVA Santé will be encapsulated according to the techniques selected at the end of the bibliographic study. Finally, a characterization of the structure and functionality of these formulations will be carried out.
The project is confidential.
Activities
The successful candidate will work at the Institute of Chemistry Biology of Membranes and Nano-objects (CBMN-UMR 5248) in Pessac. Its main activities will be:
- Carrying out a bibliographic study on systems with prolonged delivery of active ingredients: research and comparative critical analysis of existing publications and patents.
- The encapsulation of 2 or 3 active ingredients with the technologies identified during the bibliographic study (microparticles, microcapsules and matrix implants)
- The structural characterization of the systems formulated by: optical and electron microscopy to identify their morphology; Raman confocal microscopy to establish chemical mapping of the distribution of assets; X-ray diffraction to control their crystallinity.
- The in vitro kinetic study of the release of active ingredients under standardized conditions. - Writing a summary report.
Skills
PhD in physical chemistry, with a good knowledge of colloidal systems, formulation and analytical techniques (spectroscopies, microscopies, XRD). Oral and written expression in English.
Capacity for synthesis, critical thinking.
Ability to work independently, in an organized manner, in complete safety and with rigor.
Aptitude for dialogue and communication.
Ability to synthesize, ability to write a bibliographic report.
Ability to integrate industrial specifications.
Work Context
The CBMN Institute is a multidisciplinary research center at the interface of chemistry, biology and physics, comprising around 200 people, half of whom are PhDs, Post-docs and other CDDs. CBMN's research activity revolves around 4 thematic poles and a very rich instrumentation platform at the cutting edge of technology (http://www.cbmn.u-bordeaux.fr/1-presentation). The project will be carried out within 2 research groups CLiP'IN (NMFAB pole) and Spectroscopy and Imaging (MSB pole) under the direction of Dr. Sophie Lecomte (DR CNRS) and Prof. Fernando Leal Calderon (PR INP) and, in partnership with CEVA Santé Animale (Dr Florence Guimberteau). The laboratory is perfectly equipped for the formulation of active principle and their characterization.
Constraints and risks
Hygiene and Safety constraint related to the handling of chemicals and the use of laser (Raman microscopy) perfectly supervised within the CBMN institute.
