Missions
Working alongside the scientific manager, the EPM assists the latter in coordinating a European project funded by the Horizon Europe Program as part of the Marie Curie “Doctoral Networks” call for proposals: LIPAGG (https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/101227450). His/her mission is to lead the consortium and facilitate its overall functioning in accordance with the terms of the grant agreement and the consortium agreement. These functions thus cover a range of tasks related to the organizational, administrative, and legal management of projects. He/she will be based at the Institute of Chemistry and Biology of Membranes and Nano-objects on the University of Bordeaux campus, specifically within the “Multi-scale Biophysics (MSB)” team.
The European Project Manager will work closely with all staff involved in monitoring and justifying the LIPAGG project of the Aquitaine Regional Delegation of the CNRS, the CBMN, and its partners.
Activités
Main activities
- Assist the scientific coordinator in coordinating project implementation and monitoring the work plan
- Develop and implement the management tools needed to manage projects (procedures, guides, standard document templates, collaborative platforms, website updates, etc.)
- Prepare consortium meetings and draft minutes
- Participate in the development of certain deliverables (data management plan, communication plan, etc.)
- Lead the consortium and facilitate exchanges between partners
- Implement internal communication actions (dissemination of information, management of the collaborative platform, etc.) and external communication actions (drafting press releases, content for the public section of the website, etc.)
- Act as an intermediary between the European Commission on the one hand and the consortium on the other
- Raise awareness among partners about the dissemination of results, gender equality, the link between science and society, and environmental issues
- Coordinate the organization of project-related events (training activities, secondments to other laboratories, workshops, conferences, etc.)
Administrative management
Working closely with the Europe division of the Partnership and Promotion Department (SPV) of the Aquitaine Delegation
- Assisting partners with the administrative aspects of the project, monitoring the application of Horizon Europe's administrative rules and procedures
- Monitoring the production of deliverables and participating in the drafting of activity reports
Financial management
Working closely with the SPV's Europe department
- Monitor expenditure (budget updates and monitoring, internal financial summary reports, etc.)
Legal monitoring
Working closely with the SPV's Europe department
- Ensure compliance with the obligations set out in the grant agreement and consortium agreement
- Monitor and update (addenda) contractual documents
Communication
- Implement internal communication actions (consortium);
- Actively participate in monitoring the data management plan and the plan for disseminating and exploiting the project results, and ensure its application by the partners.
- Raise awareness among partners about the dissemination of results, respect for gender equality, and the link between science and society.
Compétences
Required qualifications/skills
-Master's degree or equivalent (5 years of higher education), training in European project management would be an advantage;
- Fluency in written and spoken French and English (B2/C1 level) essential
- Good knowledge of European Commission management rules in the context of Horizon Europe research programs;
- Knowledge of the operating rules of a public research organization;
- Good knowledge of financial and administrative management;
- Knowledge and proficiency in project management tools (spreadsheets, planning tools, etc.).
Required qualities
- Strong sense of rigor and organization;
- Initiative, dynamism, responsiveness, and autonomy;
- Ability to work in a team and in an intercultural environment;
- Experience in leading European and/or international projects highly desirable;
- Knowledge of communication and event organization appreciated;
- Writing and summarizing skills essential.
- Technical or scientific training in the biomedical, chemical, or biophysical field would be a plus.
Contexte de travail
The Aquitaine Delegation of the CNRS is recruiting a European Project Manager (EPM) to oversee the implementation and monitoring of the project. This is a European research training network coordinated by Dr. Lucie Khemtemourian. The project is funding 15 doctoral scholarships over three years.
The consortium consists of 23 partners in six European countries.
The candidate will be based at the Institute of Chemistry and Biology of Membranes and Nano-objects (UMR 5248 CNRS University of Bordeaux, Bordeaux INP) under the supervision of Dr. Lucie Khemtemourian. The unit has unique and recognized expertise in the chemistry and biology of membranes and biomolecules.
- Position available on November 1, 2026
- Contract duration: 18-month full-time fixed-term contract, with possibility of renewal
- Remuneration: according to CNRS scales, research engineer level, contract employee: from €2,496.98 depending on experience.
The position is in a sector covered by the protection of scientific and technical potential (PPST) and therefore, in accordance with regulations, requires the employee's arrival to be authorized by the competent authority of the MESR, which requires a pre-employment investigation that can take up to 8 weeks.
- The job may involve occasional and infrequent travel within Europe.
- Remuneration: in accordance with CNRS pay scales, research engineer (IE) level, depending on experience
