Missions

Our team works on the emergence of asexuality and on the genomic consequences of such reproductive strategies.
The applicant will be autonomous to conduct research on the genome of the pseudo-sexual nematode species of the genus Mesorhabditis. The applicant will propose hypothesis, and will concieve and conduct the experiments.

Activities

-Analysis of NGS data: DNA and RNA seq from Illumina and long reads
-Survey of the bibliography
-Dissemination of results (publications and conferences)

Skills

We are seaking for a highly motivated candidate, ready to face scientific and techological challenges. While specialized in bioinformatics, the candidate will have a solid background in biology, in particular in evolutionary biology.

-expertise in molecular evolution
-expertise in methodological development of bioinformatic tools
-expertise in comparative transcriptomic

Work Context

The host laboratory (LBMC) is situated on the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon campus, which gather many disciplines (30 researc h units from archeology to quantum physics). The research project is part of an interdisciplinary collaboration involving cell biologist, theoritician of sexuality and population geneticists.
