Missions
• Develop, consolidate, and optimize fMRI and EEG neurofeedback algorithms.
• Design, integrate, and test standalone neurofeedback software (software suites for clinical environments).
• Contribute to the processing and analysis of data from the test phases.
• Ensure implementation in compliance with ethical standards, IT security, and data confidentiality.
• Contribute to documentation, project reports, and the preparation of technology transfer and valorization steps.
Activités
• Software development (Python, PsychoPy, real-time analysis and visualization tools).
• Integration of acquisition modules (EEG, fMRI), online analysis, and neurofeedback to participants.
• Functional testing, optimization, and documentation of the software.
• Cross-analysis of experimental data to validate the robustness of algorithms.
• Regular interactions with the other postdoctoral researcher (experimental protocols, user feedback) and with clinical partners to ensure clinical adequacy of the solutions.
• Technology monitoring and participation in intellectual property protection and transfer strategy.
Compétences
• PhD in neuroscience, computational neuroscience, signal processing, biomedical computing, applied physics, or a related field.
• Excellent software development skills (Python essential, MATLAB or equivalent appreciated).
• Experience in neuroimaging and/or EEG data analysis, preferably real-time.
• Strong knowledge of signal processing methods and machine learning.
• Familiarity with regulatory and ethical constraints in research involving sensitive data.
• Ability to work closely with neuroscientists and clinicians.
• Scientific rigor, autonomy, strong documentation skills, and the ability to deliver robust solutions.
Contexte de travail
The position is based at the Institut des Sciences Cognitives Marc Jeannerod (CNRS, Lyon), within the team led by Prof. Suliann Ben Hamed.
The postdoctoral researcher will work at the core of the ERC PoC FOCUS project, which aims to develop an innovative multimodal neurofeedback software suite for ADHD remediation. The work will be carried out in close interaction with MRI engineering (CERMEP), clinical partners (hospitals in Lyon and Paris), and neuroscience researchers.
Contraintes et risques
• Development on complex data (EEG, fMRI) requiring high algorithmic and computational robustness.
• Time constraints linked to the European project (Proof of Concept) timeline.
• Strong requirements regarding confidentiality, data management, and software security.
• Need to quickly integrate clinical user feedback and manage fast-paced development iterations.
