Missions
• Implement and lead fMRI and EEG neurofeedback protocols during the test and research phases of the project.
• Ensure recruitment, monitoring, and testing of participants (healthy volunteers and ADHD patients).
• Carry out acquisition, processing, and analysis of behavioral, EEG, and fMRI data.
• Ensure ethical compliance of experimental activities and guarantee adherence to consent and confidentiality procedures.
• Contribute to the drafting of reports, scientific publications, and interactions with clinical partners.
Activities
• Organization and execution of experimental sessions (pre- and post-neurofeedback).
• Implementation and monitoring of behavioral protocols (cognitive and clinical tasks).
• Preprocessing and advanced analysis of neuroimaging and EEG data.
• Interaction with participants and administrative follow-up of ethical and regulatory files.
• Contribution to the collaborative development of neurofeedback software (user interface, usability feedback).
• Participation in team meetings and regular exchanges with hospital and technical partners.
Skills
• PhD in cognitive neuroscience or neuroimaging.
• Strong experience in acquisition and analysis of EEG and/or fMRI data.
• Previous experience with neurofeedback would be an asset.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools (Python, MATLAB, neuroimaging software).
• Familiarity with human experimental protocols and clinical best practices.
• Knowledge of ethical and regulatory aspects of research involving human participants.
• Scientific rigor, organizational skills, and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, in both French and English.
Work Context
The position is based at the Institut des Sciences Cognitives Marc Jeannerod (CNRS, Lyon), within the team led by Prof. Suliann Ben Hamed.
The ERC PoC FOCUS project aims to develop an innovative individualized neurofeedback software suite for ADHD remediation, combining fMRI and EEG. The postdoctoral researcher will work closely with imaging engineers (CERMEP), ADHD clinical specialists in Lyon and Paris, and technical partners involved in software development.
Constraints and risks
• Work in hospital environments and on imaging platforms (3T MRI, EEG), requiring strict adherence to hygiene, safety, and confidentiality rules.
• Schedule constraints linked to participant and platform availability.
• Management of potentially sensitive situations with adult participants presenting attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder.
• Strict compliance with ethical protocols and biomedical research regulations.
