Missions

This position is available for a postdoctoral researcher in Lyon, France, in the Neural bases of spatial cognition and action team, at the Institut des Sciences Cognitives Marc Jeannerod (ISCMJ; http://www.isc.cnrs.fr/) under the direction of Suliann Ben Hamed, Team Director. The position is funded for 2 years by a grant from the European Research Council.

Activities

The objective of the project is to set up an experiment aimed at increasing spatial attention by neurofeedback by functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and electroencephalography (EEG). The candidate will have to learn to master and modify the neuro-feedback environment already in place, collect data, analyzes and finalize them through scientific publications. Preliminary data have already been acquired in this direction and the agreement of the ethics committee has already been obtained.

Experience in functional imaging in neuroscience
Scientific training in neuroscience
Advanced programming in Matlab, Python, and other languages
Strong knowledge of fMRI signal processing
Strong machine learning knowledge
Team work
Scientific English spoken and written
Parametric and non-parametric statistics
EEG experience

Work Context

The laboratory is located near the neurological, cardiological and psychiatric hospitals of Lyon Est. He is internationally recognized for his studies in cognitive neuroscience. It hosts nearly a hundred researchers, permanent and non-permanent, French and foreign. The candidate will join one of the reception teams of this Institute, in direct hierarchical relation with the director of this team.
