Missions
This project manager position is divided into two half-time assignments: one dedicated to the Occitanie Region's “Quantum Technologies” Key Challenge, and the other related to the “Edible Soft Matter” project, funded under the Horizon Europe programme. The tasks associated with each project are detailed below.
1. Management of the “Quantum Technologies” Key Challenge project
The Occitanie Region's “Quantum Technologies” Key Challenge aims to structure, strengthen, and promote regional research in this strategic field. The project brings together several laboratories, institutional stakeholders, and industrial partners around research, training, technology transfer, and scientific dissemination activities.
To support its implementation, the project is recruiting a project engineer responsible for coordinating activities, ensuring operational follow-up, and contributing to the programme's visibility.
2. Management of the “Edible Soft Matter” project
The “Edible Soft Matter” (ESM) project is an MSCA Doctoral Network funded by Horizon Europe and coordinated by Dr Laurence Ramos, a researcher at the Charles Coulomb Laboratory (L2C) in Montpellier. MSCA Doctoral Networks (DNs) are European doctoral training programmes funded by the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA). This project brings together 22 European partners.
Activités
1. Management of the “Quantum Technologies” Key Challenge project
Under the authority of the Key Challenge steering committee and in close interaction with research teams and institutional services, the project manager will be responsible for the following tasks:
a. Internal and external communication
Deploy and manage digital tools tailored to different audiences (internal platform, newsletters, website, social media, etc.).
Disseminate information on project activities to scientific teams, institutional partners, companies, the general public, and decision-makers.
Contribute to the preparation of events (seminars, workshops, research–industry meetings, etc.).
b. Coordination of project governance bodies
Organise and monitor the operation of the various committees (executive committee, extended executive committee, valorisation committee).
Prepare agendas, draft minutes, and ensure follow-up of decisions.
Ensure smooth circulation of information among stakeholders.
Act as a liaison with Regional services (reporting, coordination with other Key Challenges, etc.).
c. Support to project officers
Support project officers in their activities, particularly in relation to:
research valorisation and technology transfer;
international relations;
scientific dissemination and outreach.
Contribute to the preparation or monitoring of reports, summaries, roadmaps, and cross-cutting actions.
2. Management of the “Edible Soft Matter” project
The project manager will be responsible for the implementation and monitoring of the ESM project through the following activities:
a. Project coordination
Assist the project coordinator in supervising project implementation and monitoring the work plan;
Develop and implement project management tools necessary for project administration (procedures, guidelines, document templates, collaborative platforms, etc.);
Prepare consortium meetings;
Animate the network and facilitate exchanges between partners;
Act, in collaboration with the relevant departments of the CNRS Occitanie East Regional Delegation, as the interface between the consortium and the European Commission (Research Executive Agency).
b. Administrative management
Assist partners with administrative aspects of the project and ensure compliance with administrative rules and procedures specific to Horizon Europe, and in particular to the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions;
Monitor the production of deliverables and contribute to the drafting of activity reports.
c. Financial management
Monitor expenditures (allocation and transfer of funds, budget updates and tracking, internal financial summaries, etc.);
Coordinate the preparation, consolidation, and submission of financial reports in close collaboration with the CNRS Regional Delegation, in compliance with the deadlines set by the European Commission;
Ensure that all supporting documents are properly prepared and retained by each partner in anticipation of potential audits.
d. Legal monitoring
Ensure compliance with the obligations set out in the Grant Agreement and the Consortium Agreement;
Monitor and update (amendments) contractual documents in close collaboration with the CNRS Regional Delegation.
e. Communication
Implement internal communication actions (information dissemination, management of the collaborative platform, etc.);
Participate in external communication activities (drafting press releases and content for the public section of the project website, etc.);
Contribute to the development of the project's Data Management Plan and ensure its implementation by partners.
f. Activities specific to MSCA Doctoral Networks (DN) projects
Supervise the recruitment of early-stage researchers (ensuring compliance with the timeline defined in the work plan, advertising job offers, organising recruitment procedures, ensuring compliance of employment contracts, welcoming and supporting early-stage researchers during their relocation, etc.);
Coordinate the organisation of project-related events (training sessions, secondments, workshops, conferences, etc.);
Raise partners' awareness of result dissemination, gender equality, and the science–society interface.
Compétences

• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary scientific environment.
• Rigor, autonomy, strong organisational skills, and an aptitude for collaborative work.
• Knowledge of the research, innovation, or public policy landscape would be an asset.
Contexte de travail
The project manager will carry out their duties within the Charles Coulomb Laboratory, working in close collaboration with the steering committee of the Défi Clé and with the coordinator of the European project.
Le poste se situe dans un secteur relevant de la protection du potentiel scientifique et technique (PPST), et nécessite donc, conformément à la réglementation, que votre arrivée soit autorisée par l'autorité compétente du MESR.
