Missions
The missions of the person recruited will essentially be to study the electronic properties of nano-devices based on silicon, as an efficient detector of THz radiation. These sensors will be placed in extreme conditions (in an aqueous medium or in a strong magnetic field) to assess their potential for application in agronomy, in biophysics, and possibly in quantum technologies.
Activités
To do this, it will be necessary to characterize these MOSFETs by THz photoconductivity according to different physical parameters. More precisely, it will be a question of studying their THz sensitivity and noise equivalent power, according to the incident frequency, the temperature, the density of carriers, the temperature and the magnetic field. Other materials will be tested, such as graphene for example, and compared to the capabilities of Si-MOSFET detectors.
The position involves writing scientific papers and patents. The recruited person is also expected to regularly present their results during project progress meetings and dedicated conferences.
Compétences
The recruited person should have an in-depth knowledge of the physics of two-dimensional electronic systems, THz equipment, electronic nano-devices and cryogenic systems.
Contexte de travail
This work will be carried out within the framework of a priority research program (PEPR)
dedicated to electronics. The work will be done in close collaboration with various other French laboratories, particularly in Paris and Bordeaux.

The constraints and risks are those inherent in experimental work in a solid-state physics laboratory (handling of cryogenic fluids, use of electrical equipment, magnetic field and relatively intense light sources).
