The growing need to use large masses of data to enable the development of sufficiently complex, robust and generalizable models - especially in statistical and deep learning developments - is accompanied by an increased focus on regulation and data protection, particularly in the field of medical imaging. This need to access an important reservoir - already constituted (for so-called retrospective studies) - and/or constantly growing (for prospective studies) comes up against several difficulties: legal, technological, ontological and computational. The AWESOMME project is fully online with these challenges and proposes to bring to maturity a purely web-based software platform, already deployed within the framework of the unit's transversal research projects (i.e. involving several teams and departments).
The creation and access to these annotated imaging databases has led to the emergence of significant needs in IT development: in order to access the data, and in compliance with regulations, a secure scientific platform, allowing access to the medical image archiving system (PACS), the search for relevant images, their visualization and their semi-automatic annotation has been deployed on clinical site as a proof of concept. This software solution is the starting point of the AWESOMME project,
The candidate's mission will be to put into production a secure platform for members involved in the target projects (radiomics and neurology) that will allow access, visualization, automatic generation and backup of regions of interest. This AWESOMME platform has already been the subject of a "proof of concept" within a hospital department.
The AWESOMME platform is based on open developments of the OHIF software suite, purely web-based and free of installation problems. It is designed to be the single entry point (server accessible on the entire hospital site), secure and generic (not limited to the omics or MS problem) to annotate and anonymize images, thus making legislative issues obsolete.


The candidate will be responsible for making this platform perennial, generic and to register it in the current practice of clinicians.
The evolution of AWESOMME led by the candidate will be mainly located in the following areas:
- on the extension of the interface
- implementation of manual and semi-automatic annotation tools,
- rereading and sharing of segmentation results
- generalization of the query to other medical image databases
- access to distributed computing resources.


The candidate should have an extremely solid base in JavaScript development and in particular on the React framework. The main developments will be done on this technology in order to extend the Web Viewer. Strong knowledge in medical imaging (DICOM, PACS, NIFTI, ...) would be a definite plus.
