Job Description
Missions
The post-doc is part of the SynPaX ANR project that aims to design syntactic parsing methods for speech and investigate cross-modal transfert learning methods. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of such models, to the formulation of related scientific questions and to the promotion of this research through writing and presenting articles.
Activity
- literature review on speech parsing, multimodal pretrained models, cross-modal transfer
- design and implementation of speech parsers
- experimentations and évaluations of proposed models
- valorization of research results (articles, communications, seminars)
- participation to the scientific animation inside the GETALP team (eg seminars)
Your Profil
Skills
- PhD in NLP or Speech processing
- good programming skills (python, pytorch), knowledge of machine learning (transformer)
- good command of French and English
- interest for linguistic data
Your Work Environment
The work will be carried out at the Laboratoire d'Informatique de Grenoble (LIG). The LIG is a joint research unit (Université Grenoble Alpes, CNRS, and Grenoble INP) that brings together nearly 450 faculty, doctoral students, and research support staff. They belong to various organizations and are spread across three LIG sites: the campus, Minatec, and Montbonnot.
The LIG aims to be a laboratory focused on the fundamentals and development of computer science, while ensuring an ambitious openness to society in order to support new challenges.
The ambition is to draw on the complementary nature and recognized quality of the LIG's 22 research teams to contribute to the development of the fundamental aspects of computer science (models, languages, methods, algorithms) and to develop synergy between the conceptual, technological, and societal challenges associated with this discipline.
The position will be based within the GETALP team, which has strong expertise and a solid track record in natural language processing. The successful candidate will be welcomed into a team that offers a stimulating, multinational, and pleasant working environment.
