The researcher will work on the HR-Drone SATT maturation project, which aims to build modular wings for quadri-rotor UAV, with the final goal to launch a start-up next year : https:://

As a member of the future start-up's team, he'll be in charge of conceiving, building and testing several technical parts of the project, with a heavy focus on mechanical conception and developing control algorithms. Both skills are hence expected here, as well as a desire to take part in the creation of the future company.


Main tasks:
* CAD of mechanical parts
* 3D Printing and basic mechanical works
* Conception and design of control algorithms
* Participate in test campaigns, both in field and in a wind tunnel

Secondary tasks:
* Enhance the project's bibliography on some aeronautical aspects
* Verify and complete some fluid models
* Take part in all the reflexion process for the future startup


Technical Skills:
- CAD/FAO (Solidworks, Onshape, ANSYS, OpenFoam...)
- Programming (Python, ROS, Matlab/Simulink...)
- GIT Versioning
- Master advance control theory
- Skills in aeronautics is a big plus

Social Skills:
- Fluent in English (C1)
- Be autonomous and flexible
- Be highly motivated
- Be able to work in a multi-cultural and multidisciplinary environment

Work Context

Gipsa-lab is a CNRS research unit joint, Grenoble-INP (Grenoble Institute of Technology), University of Grenoble Alpes. It has agreement with Inria, Observatory of Sciences of the Universe of Grenoble.

With 350 people including about 150 doctoral students, Gipsa-lab is a multidisciplinary research unit developing both basic and applied researches on complex signals and systems.

Gipsa-lab develops projects in the strategic areas of energy, environment, communication, intelligent systems, life and health and linguistic engineering.

Thanks to the research activities, Gipsa-lab maintains a constant link with the economic environment through a strong partnership with companies.

Gipsa-lab staff is involved in teaching and training in the various universities and engineering schools of the Grenoble academic area (Université Grenoble Alpes).

Gipsa-lab regroups 150 permanent staff and around 250 no-permanent staff (Phd, post-dotoral students, visiting scholars, trainees in master…).
The researcher will be included in the maturation team which has been working on the project for a year, and he will be under management from the project leader in the lab.
