Missions
As part of the BPI Hyquality project, the IES laboratory (UM5214) is recruiting an engineer to improve and develop new technological processes for producing innovative optoelectronic components and micro-devices. The hired individual will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, monitoring, and development of the processes implemented in the clean room at the University of Montpellier, in collaboration with and technical support for the laboratory personnel (technicians, engineers, researchers, and professors).
Activités
- Improve, enhance and develop new technological processes in the clean room, including:
- Writing procedure sheets that are understandable by users
- Verifying the physical characteristics of processes (quality of deposits, etching, surface states, etc.) through microscopy, infrared ellipsometry, etc.
- Processes involved (non-exhaustive list):
• Fluorinated ICP RIE etching on SiN and SiO2
• Chlorinated ICP RIE etching on III-V semiconductors (GaSb, GaAs, InAs, etc.)
• Metal and oxide sputtering deposits
• Deposition of dielectric materials by PECVD
• Resin processes for optical and electronic lithography
• Electronic lithography processes
• Photolithography processes
• Wet etching processes
• Fabrication processes for optoelectronic components based on III-V semiconductors
- Provide general support to clean room activities, including:
• Assisting and providing training to users (researchers, PhD students, or interns) to ensure they understand and apply the processes correctly
• Contributing to the monitoring of equipment and ensuring the proper functioning of resources.
Compétences
- Excellent knowledge of microfabrication processes and technologies
- At least one prior experience working in a clean room
- Enjoy working in a team
- Possess strong interpersonal skills for communicating with team members and various users of the platform
- Have a strong interest in the development of new technological processes.
Contexte de travail
The IES laboratory is a joint research unit (UMR5214) between the University of Montpellier and the CNRS. The university has a 450 m² clean room platform (CTM) located on the Saint Priest campus. The IES laboratory is the main user of this platform, which is a member of the RENATECH+ network and hosts training, research, and support activities for businesses.
In this context, the Engineer will work closely with the members of the CTM and will have regular interactions with the researchers and professors of the laboratory. The hired individual will be under the joint responsibility of the platform manager, the project manager, and the laboratory directors.
This position is located in a sector covered by the protection of scientific and technical potential (PPST) and therefore requires, in accordance with the regulations, that your arrival be authorized by the competent authority of the Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR)
Contraintes et risques
Work in clean room to develop process.
