The postdoc will join the research activity of the Mathematical Physics Group at the Institut Camille Jordan, interacting in particular with Viet Dang, Johannes Kellendonk and Jean-Marie Stéphan.

He will also benefit from interactions with other partners of the
IDEX ToRe project in the broader Lyon area, including the Theoretical Physics team at the Ecole Normale Superieure Lyon.



Attendance at the mathematical physics seminar and the common activities of the project consortium is expected.

There are no teaching duties.


The successful candidate should have a strong track record in
mathematical physics. In particular some experience in one of the
following aspects is desirable:
K-theory, condensed matter theory, quantum field theory and
topological field theory, physics of wave media, topological matter.
Applications of theoretical physicists with a particular interest in mathematics will also be considered.
Applicants are expected to have a PhD in mathematics or theoretical physics when the position starts.

Work Context

The postdoc will be a member of the project Topological Revolution (ToRe), funded by the IDEX Lyon. This project unites a consortium of researchers in the Lyon area which are dedicated to the study of topological aspects in mathematics and physics. The postdoc will be housed at the mathematics department of the University Lyon 1 (Institut Camille Jordan), starting during the fall of 2020 or early 2021.
