Missions

This part-time postdoctoral research position aims at developing the research program associated with the ERC project Automata in Number Theory. More specially, the researcher will develop, in association with the PI of the project,
the necessary tools needed for developing Mahler's method in several variables, as well as the applications of this method to automatic real numbers.

Activities

Developing original methodologies to overcome some identified difficulties
Writing scientific reports and articles
Participation to the writing of a monograph
Participation to the working group of the ANT project

Skills

The candidate will have a PhD in mathematics. We look for a specialist of number theory (transcendence, algrebraic independence, Diophantine apporoximation), with some knowledges in automata theory.

Work Context

The researcher will join the group of Combinatorics and Number Theory (CTN) of the Camille Jordan Institute (ICJ, Lyon). She, he, will work in collaboration with Boris Adamczewski, the PI of the ANT project, and could interact with the members of the team CTN.
