Job Description
Missions
The 6-month postdoctoral position will involve working on combinatorial reconfiguration problems. The candidate will aim to study the existence of meta-algorithms for combinatorial reconfiguration and the discovery of solutions.
A strong background in algorithmics, combinatorial reconfiguration, logic, and graph theory is expected.
The candidate must be able to work at the intersection of multiple theoretical computer science disciplines (graph theory, algorithmics, logic). As such, the candidate should demonstrate a curiosity for theoretical research and the exploration of new research themes.
Activity
- Development of new algorithms (upper and lower bounds, complexity, etc.).
- Collaboration with members of the GOAL team (LIRIS).
- Writing up results for international conferences and journals (including SODA, ICALP, STACS, ESA).
- Participation in conferences and working groups in France and internationally to present findings.
Opportunity, if the candidate is interested, to take part in outreach activities.
Your Profil
Skills
Required Skills:
- PhD in mathematics or computer science, with expected expertise in parameterized algorithmics, graph theory, and logic.
- Strong publication record in international conferences/journals.
- Proficiency in English (written and oral).
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in meta-algorithmics and combinatorial reconfiguration.
Your Work Environment
- The postdoctoral position will be based at LIRIS, within the GOAL team. The GOAL team specializes in graph algorithmics (centralized and distributed), local certification, and structural graph theory.
- The LIRIS laboratory is committed to diversity and equal opportunity. All candidates will be evaluated based on their skills and fit for the position, in accordance with principles of fairness and non-discrimination.
