Job Description
Missions
The postdoctoral position lies in the field of centralized and distributed algorithms. The postdoctoral fellowship is funded by the ANR ENEDISC project, which aims to develop a solid theoretical foundation for the design of energy-efficient algorithms.
The postdoctoral researcher will mainly design state-of-the-art theoretical algorithms for various distributed computing models (e.g., sleeping models, beeping models, LOCAL model). The candidate may also study the links between local certification and energy-efficient algorithms, particularly for designing lower bounds.
A strong background in algorithmics and/or graph theory is expected. Experience in distributed algorithmics is a plus.
Activity
- Design of new algorithms and proofs of their efficiency (upper and lower bounds, complexity, etc.).
- Collaboration with members of the GOAL team (LIRIS) and partners of the ENEDISC project.
- Presentation of results in international conferences and journals (including PODC, DISC, SIROCCO).
- Participation in conferences and working groups in France and internationally to present results.
- Opportunity, if the candidate is interested, to participate in science outreach activities.
Your Profil
Skills
Required Skills:
PhD in mathematics or computer science, with expertise in centralized or distributed algorithmics or graph theory.
Strong publication record in international conferences/journals.
Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
Desired Skills:
Experience in designing distributed algorithms, particularly in sleeping or beeping models, as well as in models like CONGEST, LOCAL, local certification or self-stabilization.
Your Work Environment
The postdoctoral position will be based at LIRIS within the GOAL team. The GOAL team specializes in graph algorithms (centralized and distributed), local certification, and structural graph theory.
Collaborations with members of the ANR "ENEDISC" project (e.g., at LaBRI or IRIF) are possible.
The LIRIS laboratory is committed to diversity and equality. All applicants will be evaluated based on their skills and suitability for the position, in accordance with the principles of fairness and non-discrimination.
