Job Description
Missions
As part of a research project at the interface of structural biology, molecular modeling, artificial intelligence, and cellular pharmacology, we are recruiting a Research Engineer to contribute to the identification and optimization of ligands targeting transmembrane enzymes involved in ceramide homeostasis.
Ceramides play a central role in numerous cellular processes, including signaling, differentiation, apoptosis, and membrane organization. Modulating ceramide metabolism is therefore of major interest for understanding pathophysiological mechanisms and identifying new therapeutic strategies.
The project will combine virtual screening, molecular docking, deep-learning-based protein–ligand cofolding, molecular dynamics simulations, and structure–activity relationship (SAR) analysis to identify new hits and guide their optimization.
Activity
- Preparation and analysis of transmembrane enzyme structures and their binding sites;
- Conducting virtual screening campaigns using molecular docking and deep-learning-based protein–ligand cofolding;
- Investigation of protein–ligand complexes using molecular dynamics simulations and analysis of ligand–protein interactions;
- Analysis of structure–activity relationships (SAR);
- Proposal of structural modifications for hit optimization;
- Development and automation of molecular modeling and data analysis workflows.
Your Profil
Skills
Master's degree (M2) / Engineering degree in bioinformatics, computational chemistry, biophysics, quantitative biology, structural biology, or a related field.
Experience in machine learning, structural analysis, molecular docking, molecular dynamics, Python programming, and/or statistical analysis using R is desirable. Knowledge of membrane proteins and/or drug design would be an advantage.
Your Work Environment
The project offers an interdisciplinary environment at the interface of molecular modeling, deep learning, structural biology, medicinal chemistry, and cellular pharmacology of transmembrane enzymes, with daily interactions with both computational and experimental colleagues for the design, analysis, and validation of results.
