Missions
The candidate will be responsible for characterizing the molecular mechanisms of ATP release by astrocytes, in vitro and in vivo. The person will be required to perform primary astrocyte cultures, transfect cells with viral particles, and analyze ATP release events using video microscopy. For the in vivo part, the candidate will inject viral particles into the hippocampus of mice and then analyze ATP release events ex vivo on hippocampal slices.
Activités
- primary astrocyte cultures
- viral transduction
- fluorescence video microscopy
- stereotaxic injections
- hippocampal slices
- electrophysiology,
- video microscopy
- fluorescence immunohistology

Compétences
The successful candidate will be at researcher level and must have at least a PhD in neuroscience.
The successful candidate must have skills in:
- primary cell culture, particularly astrocytes,
- handling viral particles (lentivirus, AAV),
- fluorescence video microscopy, in vitro and ex vivo.
- ex vivo electrophysiology.
The successful candidate must have completed the required training in animal research procedure design (full training) and experimental surgery.
Contexte de travail
The successful candidate will have access to all the necessary instruments and technical approaches. The IGF is a high-level multidisciplinary center. The candidate will benefit from a stimulating scientific environment within the IGF. The successful candidate will report to François Rassendren within the Purinergic Signaling and Brain Inflammation team. All cell culture, microscopy, and animal husbandry approaches are available on the Biocampus platforms hosted at the IGF or on the Arnaud de Villeneuve campus. The IGF is located on the Arnaud de Villeneuve campus, which is part of the Pro-Bike Employer Program.
