Missions

We are recruiting a postdoctoral researcher for an ANR project on the synthesis and assembly of nanoparticles in solution. The work will be carried out in collaboration with teams of physicists in Lyon and Paris. The mission will consist of synthesizing semiconductor nanoparticles (spheres, platelets) and then assembling them in a controlled manner into larger structures such as supramolecules (particles of particles) or anisotropic chains in the case of platelets.

Activités

As part of the project/your duties, you will be required to: - Synthesize semiconductor nanoparticles in the laboratory using methods already mastered in the laboratory - Characterize these building blocks using a range of techniques such as electron microscopy, small-angle and wide-angle X-ray scattering, and UV-VIS spectroscopy - Implement and develop methods of self-assembly in solution by controlled evaporation, possibly in emulsion - Characterize the assemblies obtained using the same techniques - Write progress reports and publications - Participate in consortium meetings - Present your results at conferences - Write scientific articles

Compétences

Synthesis and functionalization of colloidal nanoparticles

Contexte de travail

The LCH develops interdisciplinary research projects at the frontier of biology, materials science, and physics. It addresses both conceptual and fundamental multi-scale aspects as well as more advanced issues related to applications, in connection with the properties of the systems studied. The laboratory's staff cover a wide range of expertise in synthetic chemistry (organic, inorganic, (nano)materials, shaping), characterization, and advanced spectroscopy, all combined with strong expertise in molecular modeling (excited states, reactivity, liquids, etc.). By joining the CNRS, we offer you: • A stimulating work environment in contact with research staff • 44 days of vacation/RTT per year • Excellent working conditions (flexible hours, teleworking) • A company restaurant offering lunch at an attractive price • Partial reimbursement of transportation costs (75%) + sustainable mobility allowance of up to €300/year • A site accessible by public transportation + private parking • Financial contribution to mutual insurance costs
