Missions
The recruited person will be responsible for conducting experiments on the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster, with the aim of advancing our understanding of the neural mechanisms underlying their visual responses.
Activities
-Development of a virtual reality navigation system for flies
-Experiments with flies navigating in virtual reality in the laboratory in Toulouse at the CRCA
-Daily maintenance and rearing of Drosophila melanogaster lines
Skills
- Research experience on insect navigation.
- Experience with insect handling.
- Experience with virtual reality protocols
- Able to speak fluent English
Work Context
The project will be led by Dr. Antoine Wystrach, with daily on-site supervision in Toulouse. The recruited person will be integrated into the BeeAntCe team, will participate in the team's weekly meetings (during which they will present their research results), and will attend the regular seminars of the CBI.
