Missions
This position is part of the European project NEUROPULS - (HORIZON-CL4-2021-DIGITAL-EMERGING-01).
Computing architectures have to process increasingly large amounts of data with security and energy efficiency. To overcome the von Neumann bottleneck, silicon photonics offers very high data rates and low power consumption. It also enables the implementation of physical unclonable functions (PUFs), which strengthen hardware security.
Activities
Design, implement, and evaluate authentication protocols based on photonic PUFs that are resistant to machine-learning attacks. Publish relevant results in international conferences and journals.
Skills
Knowledge / expertise : Foundations of hardware cryptography and physical unclonable functions (PUFs); secure communication protocols; advanced concepts in electronics and embedded systems.
Skills : Design and implementation of authentication protocols resistant to machine-learning attacks; analysis of experimental data and statistics; scientific writing and presentation of results
Soft skills : Scientific rigor; ability to work independently and take initiative; team spirit and ability to collaborate with international partners
Work Context
The position is at TIMA laboratory (Techniques of Informatics and Microelectronics for Integrated System Architecture – UMR 5159 CNRS/Grenoble INP/UGA), a joint research unit involved in numerous industrial and academic partnerships through regional, national, and European projects.
The position is located in a sector under the protection of scientific and technical potential (PPST), and therefore requires, in accordance with the regulations, that your arrival is authorized by the competent authority of the MESR.
Constraints and risks
The position is located in a Restricted Area (ZRR), which requires a prior administrative access authorization procedure.
