Missions

The researcher will be responsible for carrying out the ArteBib programme in its theoretical and practical components, whether in the partner collections and museums (Bibracte, Autun, Saint-Germain-en-Laye), in terms of archaeological expertise (classification of objects), digital tools (transformation of Bibracte inventory files, import/export of data, entry into Artefacts) but also in the smooth running of the project, from its implementation (including legal aspects) to its completion (valuation mission). He or she will have to organize and articulate the work of the second project manager with his or her own program and will also be responsible for the evolution of Artefacts to promote the notion of Site in the database.

Activities

The researcher's activity will consist in taking charge of the entire operating chain allowing the programme to be carried out: modification of Bibracte inventory files to allow the export of data to Artefacts; identification of objects in Bibracte, Autun and Saint-Germain-en-Laye and classification in Artefacts (modification of existing records, or creation); in close collaboration with ArAr laboratory computer scientists, modification of Artefacts to create and enhance the notion of Site; finally, enhancement of the project through communication (s) and/or synthesis article (s).

Skills

- experience in the field of typological identification of ancient objects (LT D and Roman period)
- a thorough knowledge of the structure and content of Artefacts;
- mastery of traditional office automation tools for files and data management (FMPro, Excel), image processing (Illustrator, Photoshop);
- good knowledge of databases and their structure (sql, php, java...) appreciated.

Work Context

Based at UMR 5138 (Lyon, MOM), the job will require work stays in Autun, Saint-Germain-en-Laye and especially in Bibracte; their frequency and duration will have to be linked to the work done in these different organizations and the progress of the general program in Lyon.
