Missions
The mission is to study female representations in Luristan bronzes during the Iron Age in order to better understand gender roles and the social structure of this region. The incumbent will analyze bodies, ornaments, narrative scenes, and symbolic contexts through iconographic, technological, and comparative approaches. The work will integrate interdisciplinary methods: high-resolution photography, microscopy, metallurgical analyses, semiotics, and gender archaeology, and will mobilize national and international collections to situate the artifacts in their cultural context. The research aims to shed light on the dynamics of power, identity, and gender in Luristan society and to place its art within the ancient Iranian cultural continuum.

Work Context
Continuation and development of the Archéorient Laboratory's work on the Iranian plateau during the Bronze and Iron Ages. This project is fully in line with the laboratory's research axis 3, "cult markers" (program B: symbolic expressions). The mark of "gender" and its meaning have been little studied or simply addressed in the context of Bronze and Iron Age societies in Iran.
