Job Description
Missions
The objective of this 12-month postdoctoral project, starting in January 2027 and remunerated according to the CNRS salary scale, is to prepare a series of heterobimetallic heterogeneous catalysts using a surface organometallic chemistry approach. Once these materials have been prepared, their catalytic performance in C–H activation reactions will be investigated, building on the team's previous work.[1-5]

Activity
1) Surface organometallic chemistry
2) Materials characterization (IR spectroscopy, solid-state NMR spectroscopy, electron microscopy, XAS, XPS, etc.)
3) Investigation of the reactivity of these complexes in various C–H activation reactions (monitored by GC/GC–MS and solution NMR): kinetic and selectivity studies (substrate scope)
Your Profil
Skills
- Excellent background in molecular chemistry, particularly organic chemistry for substrate scope studies and organometallic chemistry.
- Excellent mastering of techniques for handling compounds under inert atmosphere (Schlenk techniques and glovebox), including the preparation and handling of highly sensitive compounds (e.g., pyrophoric compounds).
- Expertise in catalysis (homogeneous or heterogeneous).
- Expertise in materials characterization techniques (chemisorption, electron microscopy, DRIFTS, solid-state NMR).
- Proficiency in solution-phase characterization techniques (multinuclear NMR spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy, EPR, X-ray absorption and diffraction, elemental analysis, etc.).
Your Work Environment
This work is part of the ERC DUO project, under the supervision of Dr. Clément CAMP. The research will be carried out at the CP2M laboratory, located on the La Doua campus in Villeurbanne. The team is internationally recognized for its leading expertise in surface organometallic chemistry and catalysis.
The laboratory is fully equipped for the preparation and characterization of supported catalysts and the investigation of their reactivity (Schlenk equipment, gloveboxes, ultra-high-vacuum lines, GC–MS, IR and UV–Vis spectrometers, solution- and solid-state NMR spectrometers, electron microscopy facilities, etc.).
