Job Description
Missions
The objective of this 12-month postdoctoral project is to synthesize a series of heterobimetallic complexes, graft them onto solid supports using a surface organometallic chemistry approach, and evaluate their catalytic performance in C-H bond activation. This work is part of the ANR SOMEDHY project. For more information, see: https://scanr.enseignementsup-recherche.gouv.fr/projects/ANR-25-CE50-5555
Activity
-Synthesis of molecular complexes with various metal elements (tantalum, iridium, cobalt, nickel, etc.)
-Preparation of heterogeneous catalysts via surface organometallic chemistry
-Characterization of materials (IR spectroscopy, solid-state NMR, electron microscopy)
-Investigation of the reactivity of these complexes in various C-H activation reactions (monitored by GC/GC-MS or multinuclear NMR)
Your Profil
Skills
-Excellent mastering of synthesis techniques and handling of compounds under inert atmosphere (Schlenk techniques, gloveboxes), including the preparation of highly sensitive organometallic compounds (pyrophoric).
-Excellent mastering of characterization and reaction monitoring techniques (multinuclear solid-state NMR spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy, elemental analysis, GC–MS, etc.).
-Knowledge or experience in Surface Organometallic Chemistry (SOMC) and electrochemistry would be an advantage.
-Ability to work effectively in a team.
Your Work Environment
This work is part of the ANR SOMEDHY project, under the supervision of Dr. Clément Camp. The research will be carried out within the MMAGICC team at the CP2M laboratory, located on the La Doua campus in Villeurbanne. The team is internationally recognized for its leadership in surface organometallic chemistry and catalysis.
The laboratory is equipped with all the necessary facilities to prepare and characterize supported catalysts and to study their reactivity (Schlenk lines, gloveboxes, ultra-high-vacuum lines, GC and GC–MS, IR and UV–visible spectrometers, liquid- and solid-state NMR spectrometers, etc.). A computer workstation will be provided.
Occasional travel to Paris or Nancy may be required to collaborate with the other partners involved in the ANR project.
