Missions

The researcher will be part of Uncharted (H2020) research team under the direction of Emmanuel NEGRIER (Senior Researcher CNRS, Director of CEPEL, University of Montpellier).

He or she will contribute to the collection of empirical data (interviews and biographical reports) and will participate to shared analysis within the research team.

Title : Measuring the Societal Value of Culture in Europe.

Activities

- To identify in cooperation with senior researchers the persons to be interviewed and interview grids
- To record and transcribe the interviews carried out
- To realize participing observation
- To participate in the meetings and other events organized by the research team, in internal and public workshops and seminars, and possibly in international conferences.

Skills

The successful candidate must hold a doctorate in political science, and have the following skills and abilities :

- Ability to work in group
- Ability to take initiatives in coordination with the work of a broader research team
- Ability to secure and carry out interviews
- Ability to observe empirical case studies across Europe, in non-French speaking people.

He or she must have good knowledge
- Of the English language (written and oral fluency is required)
- Of policy analysis
- Of evaluation and indicators measure building
- Of the research in the field of cultural policy and practices.

He or she must possess a PhD thesis in political science.

Work Context

The researcher will be part of the UNCHARTED (H2020) team in the CEPEL (UMR 5112).
He or she will work under the direction of Emmanuel NEGRIER (Senior Researcher CNRS, Director of CEPEL, University of Montpellier).

Constraints and risks

A high degree of mobility.
The project will require extensive travel and extended stays in various European cities.
