Missions
We are seeking a highly motivated person to investigate perceptual consciousness during wakefulness, sleep, and anesthesia. The position is part of Volta, an ERC-funded project led by Nathan Faivre, which aims to explore the electrophysiological and electrochemical correlates of consciousness.
Activités
The selected candidate will manage data collection in epilepsy patients at Birmingham, Alabama (US), and Grenoble. The research will involve epilepsy patients.
Compétences
Applicants should have strong organisational skills, informatic skills (databases), basic commands in Python, and specifically PsychoPy, good knowledge of the literature regarding perceptual consciousness.
An internship in one of these domains is required. Fluency in French and English is highly recommended in order to communicate easily with patients.
Contexte de travail
The work will take place at the Laboratoire de Psychologie et Neurogognition in Grenoble and at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. The LPNC is associated with the National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS). Part of the research will be performed in collaboration with hospitals in Grenoble and Birmingham. All expenses related to the project will be covered by the ERC grant.
Contraintes et risques
Regular trips to Birmingham are expected, covering at least 50% of working hours.
