Job Description
Missions
Develop and implement methods for the purification and characterization of metalloproteins
Activity
- Select and adapt analytical and experimental technologies for the purification and characterization of metalloproteins within the framework of protein crystallography and proteomics approaches.
- Provide training or ensure technology transfer for the purification and characterization of metalloproteins using equipment such as FPLC liquid chromatography systems or UV-visible spectrometers.
- Advise users on technical capabilities, their limitations, analysis methods, and their interpretation, and ensure follow-up.
- Draft experimental or study reports and technical notes.
- Design and optimize experiments within the field of protein biochemistry.
- Participate in the management of allocated technical, human, and financial resources.
- Organize and monitor the shared use of equipment and workstations.
- Conduct scientific and technological monitoring within the field of expertise.
- Ensure compliance with hygiene and safety principles and regulations.
Your Profil
Skills
Knowledge:
- Specialized equipment: FPLC liquid chromatography systems and UV-visible spectrometers (in-depth knowledge)
- Biochemistry and microbiology (general knowledge)
- Professional environment and networks (general knowledge)
- Hygiene and safety regulations
- Legal and ethical framework
- English language: B1 level
Operational Skills:
- Operate FPLC liquid chromatography systems and UV-visible spectrometers (proficient)
- Implement biological and biochemical techniques, such as expression and production of recombinant proteins in E. coli
- Protein purification via liquid chromatography
- Protein characterization using gel electrophoresis and UV-visible spectroscopy
- Use activity-specific software
- Manage relationships with stakeholders
- Conduct a procurement process
Your Work Environment
The position will be hosted in the Mycoplasma Metalloproteome “MycoMet” team led by Hugo Lebrette in the Microbiology department (LMGM) at the
Center for Integrative Biology (CBI) of Toulouse (https://cbi-toulouse.fr/eng/equipe-mycomet), and the work will be conducted in the frame of the
global ANR-funded project MIMESIS (https://anr.fr/Project-ANR-22-CE44-0003).
