Missions

The engineer (M/F) will participate in the creation of two research teams and in conducting experiments in immunology, cell biology and molecular biology.

Activités

The candidate will be responsible for conducting experiments and ensuring the smooth running of two teams: • Cell culture (cell lines and/or primary cells). • Maintenance of animal colonies and experimentation on mouse models (manipulations, injections, sampling). • Isolation and preparation of cells from tissues for cytometric and transcriptomic analyses. • Molecular biology (PCR, sample preparation, Western blots, chromatin immunoprecipitation, etc.). • Participation in laboratory organisation (stock management, monitoring of consumables and equipment).

Compétences

We are looking for a candidate (M/F) who is motivated to learn, versatile, and able to work in parallel with two research teams. An interest in and passion for academic research are essential. The candidate must hold a Master's degree or equivalent in life sciences. Most interactions within the project will be in English; a B2 level of English (or equivalent) is therefore required. Required skills: • Animal experimentation (animal care, injections, sampling). • Cell culture • Team spirit, autonomy, organisational skills.

Contexte de travail

The engineer (M/F) will work at the IPBS (http://www.ipbs.fr), which is a joint research unit of the CNRS and Paul Sabatier University (University of Toulouse). The primary objective of the IPBS is to identify, characterise and exploit new therapeutic targets in the fields of cancer, infection and inflammation. The successful candidate will work in two teams simultaneously: The 'Epigenetic Mechanisms in Cancer' team led by Priyanka Sharma (https://www.ipbs.fr/epigenetic-mechanisms-in-cancer/). The Early-life Immune Imprinting and Inflammatory Diseases team led by Thomas Gensollen (https://www.ipbs.fr/fr/impregnation-immunitaire-au-debut-de-la-vie-et-maladies-inflammatoires/). The engineer (M/F) will work with students, engineers and researchers from both teams, as well as collaborating with the institute's platforms (http://www.ipbs.fr/our-core-facilities). All biological material and equipment necessary for the proposed research activity are available in the laboratory. The engineer recruited will work under the joint supervision of Dr P. Sharma and Dr T. Gensollen (IPBS-Toulouse).
