Missions

Elaboration and characterization of inorganic nanostructures of indium-tin-oxide (ITO) based metal oxides used as electrochromic materials enabling a selective and independent modulation of near-infrared radiations. Synthesis via colloidal routes (Schlenk line, hydrothermal method); thin-film deposition on glass substrates using wet techniques (spin coating); integration as electrodes in liquid- and solid-state electrochromic smart window prototypes, employing commercially available liquid or polymer-gel conductive electrolytes, also deposited as thin films. Materials/layers/devices functionality will be established through physico-chemical analyses such as X-ray diffraction, electron microscopy, optical spectrometry, electrochemistry, and photovoltaic measurements under solar simulator, among others.

Activités

1. Colloidal synthesis of doped metal oxide nanostructures as ITO; physico-chemical characterizations (XRD, electron microscopy, optical spectrometry, XPS, EPR, etc.).
2. Deposition of thin-to-thick electrochromic films by wet-chemical methods, and consecutive physico-chemical characterizations, in particular by spectro-electrochemistry.
3. Use of liquid electrolytes, followed by the development of electrolyte layers from conductive polymer gels, deposited by lamination between different working/counter electrode configurations; ad-hoc sample exchanges with project partners.
4. Assembly of small all-solid devices (~2 × 2 cm²) as demonstrators of electrochromic windows, and consecutive physico-chemical characterizations.
Additionally: Preparation of at least one scientific publication.

Compétences

Solid background/knowledge and practical skills in solid-state chemistry and nanomaterials, electrochemistry, and optics. Strong writing and oral communication aptitudes, mandatory in English and preferably also in French.

Contexte de travail

Created in 1995, the Bordeaux Institute of Condensed Matter Chemistry (ICMCB) focuses its research on Solid State Chemistry, Materials Science and Chemistry and Process: designing, preparing, shaping and characterizing materials in order to discover, control and optimize specific functions. The ICMCB carries out fundamental research on model materials and/or materials with potential applications.
The ICMCB is a UMR with an average of 280 agents (permanent and non-permanent), with 3 tutelles, hosted by the CNRS and in total ZRR. The position is located in a sector covered by the Protection of Scientific and Technical Potential (PSTP), and therefore requires, in accordance with the regulations, that the arrival of the agent be authorized by the competent authority of MESR.

Le poste se situe dans un secteur relevant de la protection du potentiel scientifique et technique (PPST), et nécessite donc, conformément à la réglementation, que votre arrivée soit autorisée par l'autorité compétente du MESR.
