Missions
The current project aims to investigate how music rhythm can be used to benefit speech/language processing. Both short-term rhythmic stimulation paradigms (i.e., rhythmic priming), and long-term rhythm training paradigms will be used to better understand how rhythm can improve speech and language perception in children, adults, and participants with developmental language disorders. We will also investigate different rhythmic competencies, and how these relate to different speech and language skills. The postdoc will integrate into a team investigating these different topics, and will also be encouraged to contribute experimental ideas and analysis methods as well.
Activités
The postdoc will be involved in experiment design, stimulus creation, participant recruitment and testing, data analysis, writing of publications, and dissemination of research. They will integrate into a team and work collaboratively.
Compétences
The applicant should hold a PhD in psychology, cognitive neuroscience, speech-language pathology, music cognition, or a related field. They should have research experience in music cognition, psycholinguistics, or ideally both, and a strong background in experimental design and statistical analysis. We are searching for someone highly motivated, interested in the topic, and who brings their own ideas as well to the team. Ideally, we are searching for someone with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, as well as (at least) conversational level of French.
