Characterization of the responses of plants to multiple stresses by the combination of growth on calcareous soils and high temperatures.


The candidate will participate in the “CalClim” project, funded by the Agro Labex. The aim of the project is to the study the responses and the adaptation of plants to multiple abiotic stress, exemplified here by the combination of calcareous soils and high temperatures. The candidate will be in charge of implementing several approaches such as (i) the phenotypical characterization of plant responses to the above-mentioned stresses, (ii) transcriptomic analyses to gene expression in response to multiple stresses, (iii) a genome-wide association study using Arabidopsis thaliana natural populations grown in situations of mutilple stress.


We wish to hire a candidate with high motivation, able to work in a team, eager to interact with the other teams of the CalClim consortium and with organization skills, to manage the different work packages proposed in the project. A solid experience in transcriptomics, genomics and GWAS will be highly appreciated.

Work Context

The project will be realized in the “Metal Mobility” team of BPMP (INRAE/CNRS/Université de Montpellier/Supagro). The CalClim project is organized as a consortium also involving four other units, LGDP (Perpignan), AGAP (Montpellier), the LEPSE (Montpellier) and Eco&Sols
