This post-doctoral fellowship is part of the ANR COLLAB² project (2019-2023), which focuses on three mechanisms (biosphere reserves, "Zone ateliers" and "Observatoires hommes-mileux) that aim to contribute to greater sustainability by promoting inter- and transdisciplinary collaboration. These collaborations will have to be studied from the case of biosphere reserves, where researchers and a diverse set of collectives are inventing new ways of working together.

The post-doctoral fellowship will seek to produce a balanced analysis of collaborations that reflects both their contributions and challenges, their costs and limitations. He will understand them at the level of institutions, sites where they are deployed and individuals and will report on their multiple dimensions - material, cognitive, relational, emotional, as well as their evolution over time. To do so, it will be based on a mixed survey, which will combine i) a qualitative approach based on immersion in a small number of fields and semi-directive dyadic interviews; ii) a quantitative questionnaire approach with those involved in research in biosphere reserves. It will contribute to the academic debate on inter- and transdisciplinary collaborations and on social sciences in the Anthropocene, and will promote the reflexivity of actors and institutions involved in collaborative structures.

The candidate must hold a thesis in sociology or geography and must have a very good knowledge of the sociology of science and, if possible, the sociology of the environment. He or she should be able to interact with sustainability researchers and show a strong interest in qualitative and quantitative research work. He or she should have a strong ability to work in a team, excellent writing skills and a good command of English and, if possible, oral skills.

Work Context

The post-doctoral fellowship will take place in Dynafor (Toulouse). It will be co-directed by Christine Hervé (CR CNRS in plant biology) and Isabelle Arpin (HDR in sociology at Irstea).
