The researcher will have to establish a coculture model inside a microfluidic bioreactor involving stelatte cells (HCS), liver sinusoidal cells (LSEC) and hepatocytes like cells (HLC). The cell culture will be based on derived induced pluripotent stem cells. The research would need to identify the best optimized parameter including the choice of the cell density and ratio to inoculate in the bioreactor, the composition of the culture medium and the flow condition inside the bioreactor. The researcher will need to characterize the cell activity and to establish functional tissue.

The skill of candidate are related to hepatocytes cell culture, establishment of coculture models, bioreactor fabrication and bioreactor mammalian cell culture. Know how in liver tissue engineering and fluids dynamic are expected from the selected candidate. Experience in an international environment and more particularly with Japan would be a benefit.
The research activity is based in the frame of the ANR iLite in which LIMMS have to develop a liver organ on chip model. The work will be done in the frame of LIMMS, a CNRS laboratory located at the university of Tokyo in Japan. The host laboratory will be the Sakai lab of the university of Tokyo. Sakai lab will provide office, desk and research facility. LIMMS will provide CNRS administrative assistance. Working hours and rule will follow LIMMS and Sakai lab rules.
Direct supervisor are Prof Sakai, Sebastian Volz and Eric Leclerc
