Missions

The recruited engineer will be responsible for developing, testing and deploying services on the data of the European Research Infrastructure IAGOS within the framework of the IRISCC project. He/She will work under the direction of the IAGOS Data Center Manager.

Activités

- Implement Jupyter Notebooks in Python to promote IAGOS products and services. These will be based on existing code or will lead to new developments. Examples of notebooks to be developed: generating configurable flight path maps, generating statistics on database content, data quality control tools, etc.
- Develop and maintain REST-based data access web services
- Develop and maintain front-end web applications
- Conduct tests and participate in technical decisions
- Write and maintain documentation on the various tools developed and the work carried out
- Maintain services and user support
- Work in collaboration with members of the IAGOS team
- Participate in working meetings at a national level (OMP, IAGOS)
- Participate in IAGOS and IRISCC project meetings in English at an international level (travel of several days per year within Europe is expected).

Compétences

- Level: Master's degree +5 with experience in IT development
- Required knowledge in the following areas:
- Proficiency in the Python language and environment
- Proficiency in the Java language
- Proficiency in a JavaScript framework such as VueJS
- Tools: GIT, continuous integration
- Preferred knowledge:
- Environment: Linux
- NoSQL database (MongoDB)
- Good written and spoken English
- Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team

Contexte de travail

IAGOS (In-service Aircraft for a Global Observing System) is a European Research Infrastructure aiming to establish a network of approximately twenty airliners equipped with fully automatic instrumentation dedicated to collecting observations of atmospheric composition and climate monitoring.
IAGOS is participating in the European IRISCC project, which aims to develop digital services to monitor the risks associated with fires and heatwaves and their impacts on climate and health.
The IAGOS Data Center is located at the Midi-Pyrénées Observatory (OMP) in Toulouse, within the OMP Data Services (SEDOO). It consists of a database and a Data Portal that allows researchers worldwide to access IAGOS data.

The recruited engineer may be required to participate in meetings lasting several days in France and Europe.
